Leandro Vieira dos Santos, 23 years old, aka “Leandrinho”, was arrested in the act after robbing a woman leaving the cemetery, after the burial of former governor Flaviano Melo, on the afternoon of Saturday, 23.

According to PM formations, the team was carrying out extensive policing along Rio de Janeiro Street, close to the São João Batista cemetery, when they were called by members of the public who reported a robbery involving a woman who had just left the funeral, where she went to pay two last tributes to Flaviano. Melo. Support was immediately requested from the other service teams, who carried out a siege in the vicinity of the crime scene, aiming to locate the suspect, which was done within a few minutes. The robber was located in front of a candy store.

The PM arrested Leandro Vieira dos Santos, 24 years old, who was recognized by the victim. With him, the police seized the knife used to commit the robbery, as well as the victim’s objects.
He was arrested in the act and taken to the Flagrantes Police Station for legal procedures.
