Official information yet they did not confirm the presence of Slovaks on a sunken cruise ship in the Red Sea near the coast of Egypt. The communication department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic stated this for TASR.

“The Department of Diplomacy is also in contact with the relevant Egyptian authorities through the Slovak Embassy in Cairo,” the ministry assured. The department will update the situation based on official information.

In the Red Sea on Monday sank the cruise ship Sea Story with 45 people on board, mostly tourists. According to local media in the early hours of Monday morning one of the crew members sent an emergency message. The ship subsequently disappeared from radars and lost contact near the town of Shaab Sataya. Governor Amr Hanafí informed that several people have already been rescued.
