The company Arriva, which provides suburban bus transport in the Nitra Autonomous Region (NSK), warns of possible delay of afternoon services in the districts of Nitra and Nové Zámky.
“On a regional transport bus a bomb threat was reported. Police checks are in progress at this time. They are supposed to rule out the risk of a bomb threat. After the inspection, the buses are continuously deployed back to their lines,” confirmed NSK spokeswoman Zuzana Vilčeková.
Regional bus delays affect passengers at peak times, as schoolchildren and workers move home. “Arriva condemns the actions of the perpetrators and provided the police forces with full cooperation in the investigation,” confirmed Peter Stach, a spokesman for the company, which apologizes to passengers for any inconvenience caused by security measures.
According to Stach, the bomb was not reported in a specific region or bus, so it is necessary check buses in all five regions of Slovakia, where Arriva operates.
