Coronel said that 5 “black kids” did not want to join the plan, 3 “really wanted to” and the rest were “in the comfort zone”
Audio obtained by the (Federal Police) indicates that the military would be divided on whether to join plans for a possible coup d’état after the presidential elections won by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in 2022. The conversations were publicized by TV Globo.
In one of the messages, retired colonel Reginaldo Vieira de Abreu told general Mario Fernandes that 5 “black kids” (a group made up of Special Forces soldiers) did not want to join the plan and 3 “they really wanted”. The rest were in “comfort zone”. He stated: “And that. Unfortunately. And the lesson we taught the left is that the High Command must end”.
At the time, Reginaldo Vieira de Abreu was an advisor to the then president (PL). The former Chief Executive, Fernandes and 35 other people were represented by the PF last Thursday (21.Nov.2024) in the investigation investigating the attempted coup d’état in 2022. The final report was forwarded to the STF (Supreme Court Federal) in charge of Alexandre de Moraes, minister reporting on the case.
According to Moraes, there is “robust and very serious evidence” that some members of the Bolsonaro government discussed and initiated what would be planning to, in 2022, kill Lula and the then elected vice president, (PSB), and the STF minister himself.
At the time, Fernandes was executive secretary of the General Secretariat of the Presidency. He has always been the most effusive supporter of an act of force to prevent Lula and Alckmin from taking office. In Bolsonaro government message groups, he complained about the federal administration’s ineffectiveness in taking any action to avoid a change of presidents.
In November 2022, Fernandes expressed dissatisfaction with what was happening. In a message, the general told Vieira de Abreu that Bolsonaro needed “decide and sign” a state of siege decree.
Reginaldo is known as Velame and responded to Mario Fernandes on November 5, 2022, with a reference to jargon that was common in Bolsonaro’s speeches, about always acting “within the 4 lines of the Constitution” (this is an allegory with football, when it says what players are allowed to do on the field, delimited by 4 lines).
Here is what Velame said, according to the PF: “Excuse me for the expression, but 4 lines is hell. Four lines of the Constitution are the shit. We are at war, they are winning, it is almost over and they didn’t fire a shot due to our incompetence. Our incompetence, that’s it. We are like the frog, the story of the frog in hot water. You put the frog in hot water, it doesn’t feel the temperature of the water change and it keeps getting bigger, bigger, bigger when you see it’s dead. And that”.
