Axel Pons, former Moto2 racer and model, radically transformed his life to live barefoot and in harmony with nature, in search of a deeper spiritual connection.
After a successful career in motorcycling, participating in the 125cc, 250cc and Moto2 categories, and a period as a professional model, the son of motorcycling legend Sito Pons decided to abandon urban life. Graduated in Business Management, Axel exchanged speed and glamor for a simple existence on an Asian island, far from the stress of modernity.
Axel travels the world barefoot, exploring new territories and living calmly. In 15 months, he walked from Spain to Pakistan, crossing 10 countries. Although he planned to continue through India and China, he faced difficulties with visas.
The Spaniard explained that his journey is more than an adventure: “The objective is to feel the world with your feet on the ground and complete the union with Allah or God”, he says. For Axel, the act of going barefoot is a form of prayer and appreciation for the little things in life.
At age 33, Axel Pons redefined the meaning of freedom and spirituality, choosing a life of simplicity and connection with the world around him.
