federal deputy and national president of the Workers’ Party (PT), unmasked the singer about a supposed million-dollar proposal that would involve supporting the president in the 2022 elections.
During an interview with the Brasil Paralelo podcast this Monday (25), Jojo, who is a Bolsonarist, said that the PT sought her out in the 2022 presidential election and to support then-candidate Lula.
“I was offered R$1.5 million to campaign when Lula ran for president [2022] and I said ‘no’. [Eles ofereceram] for several people. All artists who were involved in politics made money […] They called to leave no trace, they called, scheduled a lunch, said it was work and, when I got there, that was it.”
Then, Jojo Todynho states that all the people who declared support for Lula received money. “All the people who campaigned, the gossip pages that attacked me, everyone got money to campaign, and I didn’t accept it. If they offered R$1.5 million to me, imagine for other people how much they not only earned, but continue to earn,” he said.
Through social media, this Tuesday (26), Gleisi reacted, stating that the PT never offered money to Jojo Todynho or any other artist who declared support for Lula in the last presidential election. The party leader also promised to sue the singer for the “outright lie”.
“It is an outright lie that Lula’s electoral campaign offered money to Jojo Todynho and she will have to answer for it. There were no offers for her or for any of the many artists who voluntarily supported”, wrote Gleisi Hoffmann.
“It is obvious that the far-right networks have put this issue on the agenda to divert attention from the indictment of Bolsonaro and his gang”, continued the PT member.

PT note
To the report from wentthe press office of the Workers’ Party had already, on Monday (25), sent a note denying that it had offered money to Jojo Todynho.
“President Lula’s electoral campaign never made any proposal for Jojo Todynho to participate in support acts. The fake news was released on a far-right platform, at a time when Bolsonaro and his criminal organization were indicted for an attempted coup and a plan to assassinate Lula,” says the PT statement.
