According to Planalto, measures seek to increase the efficiency of companies and do not change the State Law
The federal government announced on Monday (25.Nov.2024) that it is discussing a series of measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of federal state-owned companies. In a statement, Planalro said that it seeks to modernize companies to improve corporate governance practices, but without changing the State Law (Law 13,303, of 2016).
So far, the situations of Conab (National Supply Company), EBC (Brazilian Communications Company), Finep (Study and Project Financier), Ceitec (National Center for Advanced Electronic Technology) and Dataprev have been discussed. One of the ideas studied by the government, according to the newspaper The Globeis to allow state-owned companies to contract with the (National Bank for Economic and Social Development).
The Ministry of Management and Innovation, which is responsible for state-owned companies, will also be able to enter into a management contract with BNDES. The idea is to replicate what was done in the BNDES project in relation to the Angra 3 Nuclear Power Plant. During the week, new meetings should take place so that the federal government can discuss the topic.
