The judge in charge has agreed to discontinue the election manipulation case against US President-elect Donald Trump. On Monday, federal judge Tanya Chutkan granted the corresponding request from special prosecutor Jack Smith appointed by the Justice Department. Smith had asked the responsible US court to stop the ongoing proceedings against Donald Trump regarding interference in the 2020 election. Smith, who independently investigated allegations at the behest of the US Department of Justice that Trump wanted to overturn Joe Biden’s election in 2020, pursued this suspicion for a total of 16 months and finally brought charges against Trump.
