O is about to launch a digital platform that will provide detailed information on the quantity of vaccines, medicines and other supplies available in the federal government’s stocks, as well as states and municipalities. This initiative comes in a context of reports about the lack of vaccines in several regions, while the ministry argues that the absences are specific and not generalized. The department’s executive secretary, Swedenberger do Nascimento Barbosa, highlighted that the new tool aims to clarify discrepancies regarding vaccine stocks. A recent survey indicated that at least 12 types of vaccines are missing or irregular in different states of the country, including vaccines against chickenpox and yellow fever. The minister also mentioned the holding of a “D-day” in several locations as evidence that vaccines are available. Although she acknowledged that there are specific problems with some vaccines, Nísia Trindade stated that the ministry is taking measures to resolve each of the issues identified.
