The First Lady Rosângela Lula da Silvaa Trickshowed on a social network, for the first time, a newly built waterfall in Granja do Torto, part of a renovation of the official residence.
The place, which is 17 kilometers from Palácio da Alvorada, serves as a country house for the presidential couple.
Last Sunday (24), the sociologist posted an image on Instagram with the message “Sunday energized”, while showing the waterfall, which flows into a small lake with carp.
In one of the videos, it is possible to see the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) backwards, wearing a hat, watching the fish. The lake is also home to tortoises.
The Official Residence of Torto is one of the residences maintained by the Presidency of the Republic, with characteristics of a summer house. The site, which has 37 hectares, was used until 2022 as the residence of the then Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes. After leaving the property, on December 16 of the same year, the renovation began in 2023.
Searched by the newspaper The State of S. Paulothe Civil House reported in a note that “continuous corrective and preventive building maintenance, adjustments, recovery, repairs and revitalizations of Granja do Torto, which includes internal and external areas, such as gardens, water features and fountains, for through contracts already carried out for building maintenance and common engineering services of the Presidency of the Republic.”

According to the agency, “because it houses wild animals such as tortoises, the Granja do Torto Official Residence is classified as a conservation breeding site. In this way, the Residence’s water mirror, which was deactivated, is part of the water mirror/tortoise enclosure complex. Thus, the reactivation of the water mirror was carried out in the same complex as the revitalization of the tortoise enclosure, since the enclosure for these animals requires a tank or lake.”
The Civil House also informs that the “revitalization of the water mirror goes back to its original context, which is the presence of fish in its water body and the waterfall promotes agitation and movement of the bed, with an increase in the water/water contact surface. air, and, consequently, water oxygenation as fundamental to the vital function for fish and the water mirror/tortoise enclosure microsystem.”
When asked about the cost of the work, the government did not comment.

In March, the government opened a tender worth R$20 million to carry out emergency repairs and works on the official properties of the Presidency of the Republic, including the Palácio do Planalto, Palácio da Alvorada, Granja do Torto, Palácio Jaburu and 80 functional properties .
Recently, Army soldiers shot at a person who tried to invade Granja do Torto, on the night of the 13th, an hour and a half after the explosions in Praça dos Três Poderes in Brasília.
