A Gol flight and two from Latam crashed when trying to land this Monday, 25th, at Congonhas Airport, around 1:50 pm.
According to the concessionaire Aena, the maneuvers were carried out due to a change in wind direction at the time of landing and do not indicate problems with the aircraft or at the airport.
In a statement, Aena states that the go-around “is a routine procedure that aims to guarantee the safety of operations” and that the runways are operating normally.
The scrambled flights were:
- GLO1429, from Goiânia to São Paulo
- TAM3925, from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo
- TAM3629, from Salvador to São Paulo
According to Aena, everyone landed normally, safely.
The headwind is the most suitable for landings and takeoffs. The aircraft would have rushed while still in the air to reverse the threshold (beginning of the runway) and land in the opposite direction.
