A Military Police operation resulted in the arrest of a woman for drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm on Monday afternoon (25), in the Belo Jardim I neighborhood, on the Judia branch. The action, the result of anonymous complaints that pointed to a commercial establishment as a point of sale for narcotics, culminated in the seizure of drugs, a .22 caliber firearm, ammunition and various materials used in the preparation and packaging of narcotics.
The tactical group of the 2nd Battalion of the PMAC, during extensive patrolling in the region, decided to investigate the allegations. Upon arriving at the scene, the police were greeted by a woman who identified herself as the owner’s wife, claiming he was absent. The lack of documentation from the establishment and the nervous behavior of the suspect – visibly agitated – caught the attention of the police.
A thorough search inside the establishment revealed the presence of three wraps of cocaine ready for sale, in addition to a considerable amount of narcotics in a plastic container, and cash, presumably from drug trafficking. When questioned about the possibility of other illicit acts, the woman admitted to possessing ammunition, which led to a wider search.
The search resulted in the seizure of a .22 caliber firearm, a simulated pistol and a large amount of material used in preparing the drugs for sale. In view of the facts, the woman was arrested and taken to the Flagrantes Police Station (DEFLA), along with all the seized material, so that the appropriate legal measures could be taken. The investigation remains ongoing to identify others involved in the trafficking scheme.
