In a context of increasing economic instability, driven by inflation, the effects of the war in Ukraine and the pandemic crisis, it is increasingly important to ensure that your Social Security deductions are in order. These values represent not only your future retirement pension, but also access to fundamental support in situations of illness, unemployment or parenthood.
The Social Security system is one of the most relevant pillars of social protection, but there are taxpayers who have encountered flaws in their contribution records. To avoid unpleasant surprises in the future, it is essential to regularly check your contribution career and correct any discrepancies before it is too late.
Why should you check your contribution career?
The contributory career is the official record of all deductions made throughout the working life. It is based on this information that Social Security calculates the value of your retirement and other benefits. Deduction records may sometimes be missing, especially for self-employed people or people who change jobs frequently.
Furthermore, this check allows you to confirm whether you have correctly received benefits such as unemployment, sick leave or maternity benefits.
