Vienna – Elisabeth Schwetz was sworn in as Ombudsman by Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen on Wednesday. The 42-year-old succeeds the current National Council President Walter Rosenkranz (FPÖ). Schwetz was previously the district governor of Wels-Land. The National Council appointed her with a large majority last week. Schwetz wants to approach her role in a “connective” way and bring in experiences from previous positions.
