Esportes da Sorte announced on Tuesday that it financed the permanent purchase of goalkeeper Hugo Souza by Corinthians. The athlete had a four-year contract formalized with the São Paulo team, which paid R$4.8 million in cash to Flamengo.
“Being with Corinthians and enabling the signing of goalkeeper Hugo shows our commitment not only to supporting the club’s objectives, working to achieve increasingly positive results, but also demonstrates the relevance of Brazilian football to our business”said Ícaro Quinteiro, COO of Esportes da Sorte.
Hugo arrived at Corinthians at the beginning of July and has played 31 games so far. Esportes da Sorte signed a sponsorship agreement with the team in July, for a three-year contract. In addition to contributing to the purchase of the athlete, the sponsor has been carrying out different activations, such as interactions with the public who go to the Neo Química Arena.
“We always said that we would be much more than a name on the Corinthians shirt, and supporting this important signing only reinforces this commitment, that we really walk together. We are fully interested in seeing Timão achieving more and more positive results and delivering lots of joy to this loyal fan.”said Sofia Aldin, CMO of Esportes da Sorte.
“Today we reached the end of a very important negotiation for us, we had already assured the fans that everything was ok, but now we can make it very clear that Hugo is Corinthians’ goalkeeper. I would like to thank my entire board of directors for their commitment to completing this contract and also to our partners, such as Esportes da Sorte, who embarked on this. We are making the Corinthians brand more valuable and partnerships like these are the ones that show the value of this. Now our fans can rest assured,” said Augusto Melo, president of Corinthians.
