Víctor de Aldama: “I am not the corrupt one, the politician is the corrupt one”
The commission agent and businessman Víctor de Aldama visited the studios of the Cope network this morning. Aldama, accused in two open cases and one of the alleged ringleaders of the plot investigating the ‘Ábalos case’, has said that he has met Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on “several occasions.” He denies that he has ever set foot in La Moncloa. With Sánchez, he said, he has met twice, once at an electoral rally and another on José Luis Ábalos’ 60th birthday in one of his restaurants.
Aldama has stated that he has worked for the rescue of Air Europa, an airline for which he worked as an advisor. He denies that his alleged meetings with Government ministers served to accelerate the rescue. Regarding the trip of the vice president of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez to Spain, she has said that she was present in the organization of the trip, that she was in Barajas that day, and that she was called to have the plane turn around, “as if it were a train nearby”, because Rodríguez had been denied access to European soil. “Ábalos called me to do it,” he said. Regarding corruption, he said: “I am not the corrupt one, the politician is the corrupt one.”
