Servers from the Rio municipal education network who were protesting against a bill 186/2024 that changes the benefits of the category invaded the plenary of the City Council in the early evening of this Tuesday (26).

The project, which comes from the Executive Branch, aims to increase the number of classes each teacher takes, potentially reaching up to 24 more classes per month.

It is also planned to change the civil servants’ career plan, which could alter benefits such as vacations, in addition to ending the so-called premium leave, which is a period of rest that each municipal employee can request, every five years – which serves as compensation for public servants, who are not entitled to FGTS.

Last Friday (22), President of the Chamber, Carlos Caiado (PSD), had placed PL 186/24 on the agenda for this Tuesday (26). However, there is still no date for the vote to take place.

After the protesters invaded, the session was suspended due to “riot”.

A CNN sought advice from the House, but received no response until the publication of this report.
