“I wanted to see everything. I wanted to tour all the cities to see which was the most pleasant to live in according to my criteria. In short, don’t make a mistake in life (…) I could live perpetually on vacation, in a hotel. I’m above ground, which makes sense, in a way, for a sailor! I have very little to do with possession. I don’t need an interior. I have always lived in beautiful places all my life (…) But I am not attached.”
Olivier de Kersauson says more about his passion for the Sea
Olivier de Kersauson explains being “a Breton who is in the world“. Someone who is constantly “on the move” and thus doesn’t fit in “anywhere”. The “only world” where he really feels at home is obviously “the sea”. Which is quite easy to understand, when we look at the cities where he lived. In Brittany too, he was never far from the water. As a reminder, it was there that he married for the first time. A civil marriage in Brest, in 2014, followed by a second union, this time in a more religious setting…and on the other side of the world! In fact, Olivier de Kersauson followed her to Polynesia, because that’s where she comes from.
