Trump chooses Greer as trade representative to implement his tariff policy

The American president-elect, Donald Trump, announced this Tuesday the Appointment of Jamieson Greer as United States Trade Representativea key position from which he will lead the implementation of his tariff policy on countries such as Canada, Mexico and China. “I am extremely pleased to nominate Jamieson Greer to serve as United States Trade Representative,” Trump said in a statement.

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), which Greer will lead, will play a critical role alongside the Commerce Department in imposing the levies that Trump has promised.
