*) As you know, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, removed the confidentiality of the Federal Police investigation that points to an alleged plot to carry out a coup d’état in Brazil, which would prevent the inauguration of the current President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
Now, the investigation is in the hands of the PGR, the Attorney General’s Office. It will be up to the attorney general, Paulo Gonet, whether or not to file a complaint against the 37 defendants.
Among them, of course, was the one who, according to the PF, was the central figure in the alleged scheme: the former president of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro. He is identified by the inquiry as the character who “planned, directed and executed” acts to abolish the Democratic Rule of Law and consummate a coup d’état.
