The Government of Acre announced, last Tuesday (26), that it will set up a temporary hospital in Feijó, which will operate in a new building that would be used by the Department of the Environment. The decision was taken after a meeting with the population and the state secretaries of Health, Pedro Pascoal, of Works, Ítalo Lopes, and of Government, Luiz Calixto.
Governor Gladson Cameli supported the management team’s decision. “We have a problem that I will not fail to recognize and face in order to solve it. We need to provide solutions to the concerns of the population who have the right to demand. That’s why I brought my team to immediately resolve this impasse so that the residents of this municipality are not harmed in public health care,” said Gladson.
According to the Acre News Agency, a newly constructed building will be adapted to temporarily accommodate a hospital until May 2024. The action takes place through a session of the Secretariat of the Environment (Sema) for the Secretariat of State of Health of Acre (Sesacre).
“With this field hospital we will gain time so that the Feijó Hospital work can actually be completed. My mission will be for this hospital to be ready within my mandate. Let’s not waste time and by May 2025 we will have the main part of this hospital renovation completed. And we will hold the company that won the bid responsible for accelerating services,” said the governor.
The building where the hospital operates has several structural problems.
