They use living organisms, such as bacteria, fungi, algae and organic waste, replacing traditional chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Currently, the legislation does not yet regulate bioinputs specifically, placing them within the agricultural pesticides law.

Soy leads the use of bioinputs in Brazil, accounting for 55% of the total, followed by corn (27%) and sugar cane (12%), according to research carried out by .

“The broad debate sought to correct regulatory limbos and overlaps, mainly with pesticide and fertilizer legislation. The production of bioinputs will have clear, but non-bureaucratic, rules and will be in line with other Brazilian legal frameworks”disse o   (MDB-PR).

The (Agricultural Parliamentary Front) assesses that approval is essential to resolve a conflict of legislation on bioinputs on-farmthose manufactured directly on rual properties.

If the text is not sanctioned by January 2025, these products will be considered illegal, harming a large number of small farmers and organic producers.

“The great commitment of agriculture is to produce more and in a sustainable way. And bioinputs have been a great ally in this, as they favor the integrated management of pests and diseases. Regulation is the most effective way to further encourage this use, which is already happening across the country and has shown excellent results”said Zé Vitor about the approval in the Chamber.
