The city of São Paulo entered a state of alert for flooding late this Thursday afternoon (28), according to information from the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE).
In addition to the capital of São Paulo, there is heavy rain in municipalities in Greater São Paulo such as Cotia, Barueri, Embu das Artes and Itapecerica da Serra.
Shortly after 5pm, the Campo Limpo sub-prefecture region, in the south zone, went into a state of alert due to an imminent overflow of the Morro do S stream, at the intersection of Avenida Carlos Caldeira Filho and Rua Joaquim Nunes Teixeira.
At 5:10 pm, the city of São Paulo already had an impassable point of flooding, on Avenida Guarapiranga, towards the Center, at Rua Ptolomeu.
“The spread of areas of instability associated with the approach of a cold front formed rain that is already acting in the capital of São Paulo”, informs the CGE.
