THE HADDAD PACKAGE

It drew attention that the government announced exemption from Income Tax for those who receive up to R$5,000 – a measure that harms revenue. It should start to take effect. The head of the Treasury said that the loss of money will be compensated by the increase in charges for people with incomes above R$50,000, but did not give sufficient details.

Another worrying point is how feasible the savings projections in initiatives on the expenditure side are. The numbers may be inflated. The economic team says it expects an impact from 2025 to 2030.
