Post lies when stating that () asked, during an interview with a far-right Canadian channel, that the president of , , and , , “impose sanctions against Brazil”.

The publication, made by a left-wing profile on X, was viewed at least 498 thousand times until November 26, before being taken down. The page cut an excerpt of about a minute and a half from the parliamentarian’s participation in the podcast — the complete program is almost two hours long.

In the part used in the misleading post, Eduardo criticized the actions of , saying that, in Brazil, censorship is not carried out “by a president or prime minister” but, rather, by the supreme court, and that he would not like to see this in United States.

The parliamentarian was talking about the imbroglio involving X in Brazil, especially in the 2022 elections, and cited the blocking of the platform requested by Moraes. The magistrate’s decision came after the company failed to respect the order to appoint a legal representative in Brazil and other legal determinations. Despite criticizing Moraes and , Eduardo does not talk about sanctions against Brazil at any point in the interview.

The parliamentarian also said he was grateful to Milei for having publicly offered “asylum to Brazilians who feel persecuted by” but, in June, fugitives from January 8th.
