Inmet warns of rain and intense winds of up to 60km/h in Acre; see forecast

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), released this Thursday (28), a yellow meteorological warning of danger due to the intense rains in Acre. The notice is valid until this Friday, November 29th.

The alert predicts rainfall between 20 and 30 mm/h or up to 50 mm/day and intense winds (40-60 km/h). Furthermore, there is the possibility of low risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

In the alert, which is valid for the entire state, Inmet published some instructions:

  • In case of gusts of wind: (do not take shelter under trees, as there is a slight risk of falling and electrical discharges and do not park vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs).
  • Avoid using electronic devices plugged into the socket.
  • Get more information from the Civil Defense (phone 199) and the Fire Department (phone 193).
