The leader of the front, Flávio Nogueira, said that the event marks the legislature’s commitment to sustainability and good social practices, and the “engagement with covenantal governance”.
“Within the global pact, the existence of this parliamentary front appears, above all, as a matter of sovereignty, whose responsibility corresponds to the right of the legislative power, present in this collegiate. The right to make a commitment to environmental sustainability, with the interference of good practices, social aspects and the engagement of contractual governance. This is not a utopia. This is possible”, said Nogueira.
The initiative was created by lawyer Sóstenes Marchezine, together with the Global ESG Institute, founded by lawyer Alexandre Arnone.
“The FPMESG appears as a fundamental mechanism for articulating and simplifying the multiple legal and normative instruments that already exist. More than creating new standards, its mission is to organize, map and make accessible the applicability of ESG in everyday public and private instructions.”, said Marchezine, who is also executive secretary of FPMESG.
