Idlib/Damascus – According to activists, the number of deaths in fighting between Islamist rebels and troops of the Syrian regime in the northwest of the country has risen to more than 130. As the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights based in Great Britain announced, almost 50 soldiers from ruler Bashar al-Assad’s army have been killed so far. The remaining dead are said to be insurgents.
