Klagenfurt – Sturm Graz got its first points in the current Champions League at the fifth attempt. In the second game under interim coach Jürgen Säumel, the champions beat last year’s Spanish third-placed team Girona 1-0 (0-0) on Wednesday. In the Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, Mika Biereth scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute. It was Sturm’s first ever European Cup success against a Spanish club in the seventh attempt.
