The deputy of the Russian ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polansky, said on Wednesday that any the decision of the administration of the newly elected President Donald Trump to reduce the support for Ukraine would mean a “death sentence” for the Ukrainian troops. At the same time, Polansky accused Kyiv of trying to involve NATO countries in a direct conflict with Russia. TASR informs about it based on a Reuters report.

“Even if we discount the prediction that Donald Trump will cut aid to Ukraine, which would essentially mean a death sentence for the Ukrainian military, it is increasingly clear that he and his team will in any case conduct an audit of the aid provided to Kyiv,” said Polanski in a speech before the UN Security Council.

Polansky also said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was rightly concerned about the re-election of Donald Trump for the American president. The diplomat recalled that Russia had repeatedly offered negotiations, but Ukraine and its Western allies preferred escalation.

The representative of the Russian ambassador further pointed out that the decision of President Joe Biden and his European allies to allow Ukraine the use of long-range missiles far into the Russian hinterland “brought the world to the brink of global nuclear conflict”.
