The FPÖ wants crosses in all classrooms, and so does the ÖVP

The FPÖ in Lower Austria fears for the country’s cultural identity and wants to defend it “by all means”. FPÖ state party secretary Alexander Murlasits does not want to allow customs, the concept of home, values and Christian roots to be banned from the public space. The FPÖ is therefore not only calling for increased St. Nicholas and Krampus visits in schools, but also a cross in all classrooms. To this end, the compulsory education law in Lower Austria is now to be changed.
