Aneel announces green flag and electricity bill will be cheaper in December

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) announced this Friday (29) that it will apply the green tariff flag in December.

The measure leads to lower electricity bills in the last month of the year, as the yellow flag was applied in November, which charged R$1,885 for every 100 kWh consumed.

The agency’s assessment is that the rains observed in recent days have provided relief for the energy generation system, in order to demand less thermoelectric production – which is more costly and is activated when hydroelectric plant levels are low.
