FIFA released this Thursday the update of the national team rankings for this end of the season and Argentina remains at the top of the list. With Brazil in fifth place, the main novelty in this relationship is the entry of Germany among the ten best placed teams.

Leader of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, the Argentines continue to lead the way in the race between the best teams. Current world champion and two-time Copa América champion, coach Lionel Scaloni’s team appears with 1,867.25 points.

France is in second place (1,859.78) followed by Spain (1,853.27), which this year won the Euro 2024. In this relationship, Brazil appears in fifth place behind England. With two draws in the last two qualifiers (1-1 with Venezuela and 1-1 against Uruguay), the Brazilian team scores 1,775.85.

Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy fill the corresponding vacancies between sixth and ninth place. Previously outside the list of the ten best, Germany appears as a novelty. In tenth place, coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team totals R$ 1,703.79

The ranking update was based on the 192 games played in the last FIFA Data. The next edition of the ranking will be made in December.
