My neighbor advised me to remove the grease regularly, preferably once a week, using a household cleaner selected according to the type of grate.

Cleaning the grate of the gas stove without chemicals

When cleaning the stove, protect your hands with long rubber gloves so as not to damage your skin. You’ll also need a brush with medium-stiff nylon bristles, a microfiber cloth, and a kitchen paper towel.   • Clean the coated grates (enamel, porcelain) regularly – here, a water bath prepared from hot water and a spoonful of dishwashing detergent will suffice. Soak the cooled grates in water with the mixed liquid for 10 minutes and remove dirt with a brush. Rinse the clean grates from the remaining liquid and wipe them dry with a microfiber cloth that does not leave flammable fibers on the surface of the grates.
  • Prepare a cleaning paste for a heavily soiled coated grate – add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda to 100 ml of water (adjust the amounts to create an easy-to-spread washing paste). Apply the paste to the grate and leave it to act for approximately 15 minutes, after this time rinse the paste thoroughly and wash the grate from softened dirt using a sponge and water.
  • Cast iron grates in grease and burns – mix 2 cups of hot water with a tablespoon of dishwashing detergent and scrub the cooled grate above the sink with the mixture prepared in this way. Use the soft side of a sponge or a brush with medium-hard bristles. Hard-to-remove stains can be removed more quickly by dusting the stain with baking soda powder before use. Rinse the whole thing with warm water and dry it by hand with a cloth or kitchen paper, this is an important step so that the cast iron is not damaged by prolonged exposure to moisture.
  • Rusted cast iron grates – to remove reddened spots, use a paste of baking soda with lemon juice, apply it to the damaged areas, wrap it in cling film and wait at least 24 hours before removing it. If you want to protect the grate from rusting, after washing it, coat it with a protective layer of rapeseed or other vegetable oil that you have in the kitchen. Just spread a thin layer with kitchen paper, put the rack in the oven heated to 210 °C and leave it there for an hour until it cools down completely.
