With an increase in searches and a focus not only on promotions but on new products and services, Google hopes that Black Friday 2024, which takes place today, will meet and even exceed commercial sales expectations.
Natália Camargo, director of Commerce, says that the company sees the consumer “hungry” in 2024. “We see the consumer becoming more and more consuming this year,” said Camargo.
Natália highlighted the growth of service categories in Black Friday searches. “We noticed growth in searches for education and travel, both air and road.”
According to Gladys Salvanha, business director at Google, the expectation is for an optimistic scenario for Black Friday. “Companies are more active in offering offers to consumers”, said Gladys, at an event at Google headquarters this Thursday (28).
Salvanha also spoke about consumer behavior. “Whoever buys does more research and seeks more security when making an acquisition”, he reported.
Promotion and news
Gladys reported that Google tries not only to connect sellers with consumers, but also to encourage companies to introduce new products to the market. “We tried to provoke the market to use Black Friday not only to burn stock, but to take advantage of the date to launch different products,” he stated.
Biggest searches
The Google team also presented the areas that have the most searches related to Black Friday.
According to the company, the sectors of home construction, furniture and housewares lead the searches.
The electronics area also emerges as one of the main promises for Black Friday, with a 40% increase in searches for related terms compared to the month of October.
