Has your scapula stopped blooming? Have its leaves started to turn yellow? In both cases, the plant needs to supply energy. Instead of buying chemical fertilizers, prepare a natural nutrient from a product that you might use for breakfast.

Every owner of a scapula dreams of large, bright green leaves and beautiful white flowers. It turns out that this houseplant can bloom all the time if you start fertilizing it. Nutrient-rich bran comes to the rescue.

Care of the scapula – the most important rules

In order for the scapula to produce white flowers, you must first provide it with the right conditions. So how to care for this plant?

Plant it in a permeable and fertile substrate. However, place it in a bright room with diffused light, although it will also thrive in partial shade. The optimum temperature for this plant is 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. Therefore, do not place it next to radiators during the heating season.

Make sure to cover the scapula sufficiently. Water it when the soil is completely dry. Its leaves turn yellow and brown precisely because of the lack of water. Excessive watering, in turn, leads to mold and the appearance of pests and fungal diseases.

The plant likes moist air, so we recommend sprinkling its leaves, especially during the heating season. You can also place an air humidifier near it.

Fertilizing scapula with bran – why is it worth it?

You can buy bran in literally any store. They can be used to make not only a healthy breakfast, but also effective nutrition for the scapula.

What ingredients do bran contain? Here is their list:

  • phosphorus – supports the root system;
  • potassium – affects water management and prevents yellowing of leaves;
  • magnesium – supports photosynthesis, contributes to intensive plant growth;
  • iron – protects against leaf discoloration;
  • group B vitamins – they help the plant to survive difficult conditions, e.g. transplanting to new soil or changing location.

With regular use of natural nutrition, the scapula will start to form new leaves and flowers. In addition, it will be resistant to diseases and fluctuations in temperature and humidity, which is especially important during the heating season.
