President mentions income tax exemption for those earning up to R$5,000 per month; the dollar closed this Thursday (Nov 28) at R$ 5.99
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) defended this Thursday (November 28, 2024) the spending cut package announced by the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, on Wednesday (Nov 27). According to him, the measures are necessary to meet the fiscal framework.
Lula also announced the exemption from IRPF (Individual Income Tax) for those earning up to R$5,000 per month. To offset the fiscal impact, the PT administration intends to increase taxes on those earning more than R$50,000.
“We will ensure that social inclusion continues with fiscal responsibility, so that the advances made by people in their standard of living do not regress”said the president in a publication on X (formerly Twitter).
