“Passos Coelho will not be a candidate for President of the Republic”

To calm the “nervousness”, political commentator Miguel Morgado assures that Pedro Passos Coelho will not be a candidate for president of the Republic, giving as a guarantee his proximity to the former prime minister.

Miguel Morgado’s guarantee was given in the comments space “Red Lines”, where the PSD activist and former member of a Passos Coelho Government commented the “big nervous one” who feels among “the people of the PSD, the CDS, Chega and the Liberal Initiative” because they think that the former prime minister “is preparing a candidacy” for Belém.

“Everyone knows my close relationship with Pedro Passos Coelho and I can say here that Passos Coelho will not be a candidate the President of the Republic”, assured Miguel Morgado.

Passos Coelho has already been identified, in polls, as one of the favorites in the race to Belém. In 2023, he appeared among the potential candidates to succeed Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

In recent days, the candidacy for Belém has gained strength. The military is another of the favorite candidates – all that is needed is confirmation that he will run for office.
