The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, said, this Friday (29), that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) “is not shaken one millimeter” by the information about the alleged plan to assassinate him in 2022 .
He spoke about the case, the target of investigation by the Federal Police, during a ceremony at the Palácio do Planalto with the presence of the man himself.
“You show, more than ever, the figure of a statesman, who does not shake one millimeter, even with all the information and news that came to light from those who plotted a coup d’état”, said Rui Costa.
“They came to plot something that no one in this room or in the country imagined could happen in this country, that someone would have the courage to plot the capture, kidnapping, death of a minister of the Federal Supreme Court, an elected president of the Republic and a elected vice-president of the Republic”, he stated.
Lula did not speak at the ceremony. The event was the first meeting between the president and Tarcísio since the investigation investigating the alleged coup d’état plan.

At the ceremony, financial support contracts were signed. In total, investments total around R$10.65 billion.
Among the applications, the bank will finance, with R$1.35 billion, the construction works of the northern section of the Rodoanel, in São Paulo. This is the section that remains to be delivered to complete the ring road that surrounds Greater São Paulo.
The main objective of the works is to improve the distribution of truck traffic and the flow of roads, reducing time spent in congestion and pollutant emissions. According to BNDES, the project should result in a reduction of around 30 thousand trucks and 54 thousand cars, on Marginal Tietê, per day.
Another part of the investments will be directed to the intercity train, which will connect São Paulo to Campinas, and to Line 2 of the subway. The bank also signed a R$2.5 billion contract for the acquisition of 1,300 nationally manufactured electric buses.
