This week, the Acre Police arrested a 65-year-old man, identified by the initials PMV, accused of raping a child just 11 years old.

He was the victim’s mother’s stepfather. The victim reported that the elderly man passed his hand over her private parts when she went to visit her grandmother. The court order was issued by the 2nd Children and Youth Court of Rio Branco.
The arrest warrant was carried out by the DECAV investigation team, with support from the Civil Police Intelligence Department, in the Santo Afonso neighborhood. PMV was taken to DECAV and is in judicial custody. Regarding the minor’s stepfather, the Civil Police have already indicted him for rape of a vulnerable person and a trial hearing has already been scheduled in the judiciary.
DECAV’s chief delegate, Carla Fabíola Coutinho, highlighted the importance of the Civil Police’s quick response, as well as the importance of specialized listening to child and adolescent victims.
“Cases like this are given greater urgency, so that the sexual offender leaves the victim’s life as quickly as possible. It is important to highlight the specialized listening carried out by the police station’s psychologists and social workers, as the victim came to talk about an perpetrator, and with the work of the technical team, another sexual offender was discovered, who is now in custody”, informed Carla Fabíola.
