Two separate crashes in a short space of time left four planes damaged at Boston airport this week.
No one was injured, but flights were delayed. Cases occurred on Monday (25). The information comes from American broadcaster WCVB5.
In the first accident, an American Airlines plane broke the wing of a Frontier Airlines aircraft, which was stopped. The first flight arrived from London, while the other was preparing to take off for Dallas (USA).
A passenger on the Frontier Airlines plane said “it was like a jolt.” “We were waiting [para decolar] and the pilot said there was an incident with the plane close to us,” he said, in an interview with WCVB5.
The aircraft had to be removed for maintenance. The flight to Dallas had to be canceled and passengers rearranged.
Hours later, a JetBlue plane, which was empty and being towed, struck a Cape Air aircraft that was traveling at low speed.
The second had landed moments before and was waiting for a gate to be released for the five people on board the aircraft to disembark. No one was injured and Massport, responsible for the airport, told WCVB5 that the accident was “minor”.
The JetBlue aircraft was preparing to fly to Orlando. “It was a complete mess, there were lights everywhere,” said a passenger who was about to board the flight.
Due to the accident, takeoff was delayed by 3 hours. There were delays on several other flights that were ready to take off. The two planes involved in this incident were also removed for inspection.
