The mayor of , (), says that the meeting he had this Friday (29) with the president () was “good, cordial, civilized, as it needs to be”.
He and the governor (Republicans) were with the PT member at a ceremony to sign financing contracts for infrastructure and urban mobility works.
“Governing requires balance and aiming for the objective of having the population’s interests come first”, says the emedebista to the Panel.
He and Tarcísio were in the opposite camp to Lula during the municipal election, as the president supported federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL).
The relationship with the president involved only specific criticism during the election, but became critical with First Lady Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, who recorded a video to recall the police record of domestic violence made by Nunes’ wife in 2011.
Shortly after the video was released, “Did Janja do this? Who would download it.” In a statement, his campaign stated that “Nunes has said, in recent debates and interviews, that the case refers to an argument that the couple had through exchanging messages and that was resolved 13 years ago.”
“I won’t deny that there is still pain, but we have to overcome it”, says the mayor now.
