First it’s strange, then it sinks in. It seems like a joke and it is. In this “Church” in Madrid, Spain, the God is a rubber duck.
The unusual “Church” was born 12 years ago by the hands of the comedian Leo Bassi and it has grown more and more. It went viral on social media and since then thousands have visited it (for free).

“If I had a God, what could it be like? Then I started thinking, God can’t be all-powerful, clowns don’t like all-powerful things. It had to be something small, something without transcendence, something childish, something for children. Then came the idea of a (rubber) duck”, says Leo Bassi, comedian.
It is the comedian himself, aged 72, who “celebrates masses” every weekend, moments when mixes humor with current affairs and uses a piaçaba to make people laugh. There are three “masses” on Saturdays and Sundays.
It even has its own weddingsin which the bride and groom exchange rubber duck rings, and baptized. In jest, of course. With affective validity, but without “legal weight”. Until funerals were already “held” in the small “chapel”.
The interior has works of art dedicated to rubber ducks, the God of this irreverent “Church”.
The comedian wants to convey the message that it is necessary “appreciate the little things” and “not being afraid of failure.”
