Two unlit pedestrians († 46, † 48) became victims of traffic accidents: Police urge caution!

Friday (November 29) evening was fatal for two pedestrians who were walking along the road without lighting. As the police informed, they are investigating both cases in connection with the crime of homicide.

The first accident happened around 8:30 p.m. near the village of Vlčkovce on the R1 road in the direction from Trnava to Nitra. The driver of a Volkswagen Golf in the left lane should have hit an unlit pedestrian with the left part of the car. Two more vehicles were then supposed to catch him. “During the accident, a 48-year-old pedestrian suffered injuries from which he died on the spot,” the police said.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., the police were called to another tragic accident that happened at the intersection between the villages of Červeník and Madunice in the district of Hlohovec. “According to initial information, a 46-year-old unlit man in dark clothes was supposed to be standing in the middle of the lane. There, he was caught by the driver of a Citroën car, going out onto the main road. The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the collision,” the police added.

At the same time, she warned pedestrians that the car driver is able to spot a person in dark to black clothes only 17 meters in front of him. “Then he may no longer react in time and a tragedy will occur on the road,” the police added.
