Carpet cleaning is one of the mandatory points of pre-Christmas cleaning. Dirty carpets not only look unsightly, but are also a breeding ground for bacteria and mites. We explain how to clean the carpet quickly and effectively using home remedies. This will save you money and help protect the environment.

Carpet cleaning – how to do it?

Carpet cleaning involves several steps and is quite time consuming.

  • Choose a time when most of the family will be out of the house for the entire operation.
  • Do not walk on a wet surface to avoid rubbing dirt into it.
  • Before you start cleaning the carpets, vacuum them thoroughly and, if you have the opportunity, tap them.
  • When vacuuming, use the carpet attachment with the squeegee to easily pick up dust and dirt from between the fibers.
  • If your carpet is particularly thick or if you have pets in the house, use a turbo brush. Its construction allows it to reach deep-seated dust and deal with hairs.

The method of cleaning carpets also depends on what they are made of. Patterned surfaces are cleaned differently than light ones. The structure and type of material is also important – do not use too hot water to wash wool. Carpets with a long pile are the most difficult to wash. However, there is a solution for everything, just choose the right cleaning method.
