Decorate your home originally for the upcoming holidays – Instead of a Christmas tree, choose other specimens that will delight with their appearance. You don’t want to give up the traditional spruce or fir tree? Then place small conifers and potted plants in other rooms. Check out the list of plant Christmas decorations.
A miniature Christmas tree will work especially well in smaller apartments because it does not take up much space, unlike a large spruce or fir. What conifers can we use to replace the traditional Christmas tree?
We can replace a large spruce or fir with holly, which is used for wreaths and garlands. It looks great when we place its branches in a vase or pot. It no longer needs any decorations due to its decorative dark green leaves and red fruits. We must remember to take care of it, because the branches dry up after a few days and lose their shine.
Another suggestion for a miniature Christmas tree are cypress trees, which we recommend placing in a glass vase.. We decorate them like a traditional Christmas tree, i.e. we hang baubles, chains and beads on them.
Instead of cypress trees, cypress trees will work greatavailable in almost every hypermarket. In their case, it is also worth using Christmas decorations.
We are talking about white spruce (variety “Conica”). It looks great tied with a red ribbon. However, remember to put it up just before the holidays, because it quickly sheds its needles in a heated room. That’s why after a few days we put the specimen outside and insulate its pot so that it can overwinter until spring.
There are many potted plants that can successfully replace a traditional Christmas tree. We will create beautiful Christmas decorations from them. Which ones are we talking about?
We place pots with poinsettias on a pyramid-shaped flower stand. This will create a Christmas tree made of Bethlehem stars, which does not need to be additionally decorated.
We decorate twigs of conifers with beads and leaves of Ceropegia “Wooda” and arrange them in the shape of a Christmas tree.. We can also tie them with a ribbon and hang shiny baubles on them. Spray such a tree with soft water once every few days.
In turn, we can decorate an old platter with a candle, whose shape resembles a Christmas tree. It is also worth using Bethlehem stars, schlumbergers or cyclamen for this decoration.
We create a Christmas tree from a blunt fig tree by hanging Christmas decorations and pine cones on it. We can replace it with Benjamin or another tall potted plant.
We wrap the roots of the orchid “Phalaenopsis” with moss and attach it to a metal candlestick. It looks great with candles, but do not light them so as not to damage the specimen.
We recommend using it on a Christmas tree-shaped frame hang delicate shoots of an exotic orchid, i.e. vanilla flat-leaf. We can use another hanging plant, e.g. ivy. In this case, spraying with soft water once every few days will also be useful.
