According to the first polls published on Romania TV after the parliamentary elections in Romania, the Social Democrats (PSD) are ahead with 26 percent of the vote. In second place comes the right-wing extremist party AUR – Gold in German – led by George Simion with 20 percent, in third place is the conservative PNL with 15 percent, in fourth place is the liberal reform party USR with 14 percent and in fifth place is the right-wing extremist SOS with seven Percent. If these polls are close to the actual election results, that would mean that the far right is now at around 27 percent overall, having tripled in size.
