Red Bull Bragantino lost the chance to win again after 11 games of fasting and to breathe again in the fight against relegation in the Brasileirão. After taking the lead after just five minutes with Eduardo Sasha, the São Paulo team ended up conceding a draw to Cruzeiro in the end, 1-1, at the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium, in Bragança Paulista (SP), this Sunday, in a duel valid for the 36th round.
With the result, Red Bull Bragantino remains in the relegation zone with 38 points and no longer depends solely on itself to save itself. In addition to having reached 12 games without a win. Cruzeiro, in turn, added the fourth game without a triumph and left the classification zone for the Copa Libertadores, after all they were overtaken by Corinthians, who reached 50 points, while the Minas Gerais team have 49.
Playing at home, Red Bull Bragantino applied pressure from the start and it didn’t take long to open the scoring. At five minutes, after a cross in the area, the ball was left for Eduardo Sasha to hit firmly. Cássio still glanced at the ball, but it ended up in the net. After the goal, Cruzeiro went all out in search of a draw.
The best opportunity came in the 18th minute, when Barreal advanced on the marking and hit from outside the area, but the ball ended up going over the goal. In stoppage time, Marlon attempted a free kick, but ended up shooting into the wall. The duel went to halftime with Red Bull Bragantino partially winning 1-0.
After the break, the duel continued in the same way, however with few opportunities. Cruzeiro had difficulty infiltrating, while Red Bull Bragantino defended well and relied on counterattacks, but was also not in great danger. However, in the final minutes, the visitors went all or nothing.
At 34, Lucas Romero took a risk from outside the area and shot firmly, clearing the crossbar. After trying so hard, Cruzeiro reached a draw. At 39, Marlon received the ball on the left and crossed. Goalkeeper Cleiton managed to palm it at the feet of Ramiro, who only had the job of pushing it towards the goal, defining equality.
The teams return to the field this mid-week to compete in the 37th round of the Brasileirão. On Wednesday, Cruzeiro hosts Palmeiras, at Mineirão, at 9:30 pm. On Thursday, Red Bull Bragantino visits Athletico-PR, at Ligga Arena, at 8pm. In the last round, the São Paulo team will face Criciúma, while the Minas Gerais team will face Juventude.
