A Lebanese soldier injured by an Israeli drone attack in a new violation of the truce
A Lebanese soldier was injured on Sunday after a drone attack launched by the Israeli army against an excavator in an area of eastern Lebanon, near the border with Syria, Lebanese forces reported.
“A soldier has been injured and his condition is moderate because an Israeli enemy drone targeted a Lebanese army excavator that was carrying out fortification work inside the Al Abara military center, in the Hermel area,” near from the border with Syria, in northern Lebanon, the army said in a statement.
Last week a ceasefire came into force in which Israel and Hezbollah must withdraw their forces from southern Lebanon, the former to the south of the border and the latter to the north of the Litani River. Likewise, the Lebanese army will deploy 10,000 men to occupy the south of the country. Since the ceasefire came into effect, both sides have accused each other of failing to comply with the agreement. The agreement consists of a 60-day truce designed to become permanent. (Efe)
