There was an attack in the west of Ukraine: the Russian airstrike claimed one victim and injured!

One victim and several wounded were claimed by a Russian drone attack on the city of Ternopil located in the west of Ukraine. During the attack, a residential building was hit, the military administration of this city announced on Monday night. TASR informs based on a Reuters report.

According to information provided by the Ukrainian Air Force, he was an air alert in Ternopil and its surroundings declared shortly after midnight on Monday and lasted for several hours.

“A residential building was damaged. Unfortunately, there are also losses – one person died, three others were seriously injured,” Governor Viačeslav Nehoda stated on Monday night via the Telegram platform.

After the attack, a fire broke out in several apartments on the top floor of the five-story building. The residents of the apartments were evacuated and firefighters intervened on the spot. Serhij Nadal, the mayor of Ternopil, said via Telegram. The information could not be independently verified, reports Reuters. Russia did not immediately comment on the attack.

The city of Ternopil is the administrative center of the Ternopil region. It lies approximately 220 kilometers east of the Ukrainian-Polish border. The region had more than one million inhabitants before the start of the Russian military invasion in February 2022, however, many of them escaped to the west as a result of the war.

So far the largest Russian drone attack on November 26 interrupted electricity supplies to a large part of the Ternopil region. Both sides of the conflict uniformly deny attacks on civilians.
